Progress. A little at a time, but funny thing is, this part of the project actually requires and comes out better when you do a little bit of work and some waiting in between.
So maybe I've missed my calling and should be a half-assed motorcycle painter for a living.
Doubtful that would go too well. And considering how my career has fallen off quite dramatically since moving to AZ, I'm probably better off not upsetting the apple cart too much.
And I do like apples.
A was a little disappointed when I actually got down to it and started taping off the center stripe. Since the gas cap is off center, I really wanted to center the stripe on the cap. You know, off center asymmetrical like. Guess I could have just said that. Strange how there are already words that have been invented that mean exactly what you mean...
Thing is, it would have been a weird section near the front of the tank, since the stripe would have had to wrap around the front on the right side too much, so from the side you'd see it too much... you get the picture, but I was a little bummed about that fact, since I've been seeing this asymmetrical stripe on the tank in my head for months.
I won't mention the voices in my head. That's another blog...
So, taped off the stripe after some fiddling and got it sprayed last night, then went back indoors to a milder temperature. After an aborted hiking plan for this morning I hiked (yeah yeah, I know) over to the garage and pulled the tape off and did another test fit on the bike. Just to sit back and see.
'Cause that's what I do. So yeah, I can dig it. And more importantly it's getting done, if not entirely perfectly at least done just the same.
[editors note: I did just come up with a new idea that I may try, which will result and require sort of well, starting all this over with...]
Having said all that, who knows where we go from here. Sort of another life story sticking it's head up again, but so much of that is these days, so I'm learning to just go along for the ride a little...
So now, if you'll excuse me for a moment, I've got a completely new idea to Photoshop...
